nesting. {a nautical nursery}

matt and i have much to do in the next two months.
both in preparation for our little guy and as we prepare to host extended family (20 at our house + ?? more at steve & jo's in gilbert) for christmas!
we are excited about all of the fun plans we're making...and even more thrilled for the actual events!

first on our list is to get the nursery planned and put together.
we picked out adorable bedding from pottery barn.

and while perusing hobby lobby i came across some fantastic nautical decor. {excuse the poor quality iphone pic} and most of it was 50% off!!!!!

next up is figuring out how i want to paint the nursery ~ colors, design, etc. initially, i wanted to avoid painting it blue, since it will be the nursery for all our children {it is the smallest of the bedrooms in our house, plus it's closest to the master bedroom}. but i'm starting to lean towards a blue nursery...{i'm hoping that we'll get our "wish" and have another boy after baby j and before transitioning to pink and frilly} plus "paint is cheap," right? a blue nursery now can totally be a pink nursery later :) {the color on this pic is a little off}

i totally have the itch to jump into nesting. planning baby j's nursery is just toooooo much fun! unfortunately, school is keeping me incredibly busy ~ the next 6.5 weeks are packed with assignments, exams, clinicals, etc. rest assured though, i'll keep you updated as we begin to actually start work on the room. for now...a before picture of the nursery and our plan of attack:

step 1: clean the carpet ~ this room used to be our office. can you tell where the desk was set up, and where our chair and feet rested? hahah. and can you tell where we spilled a dark colored drink? {oops!}

step 2: paint ~ i'll be the creative master mind and matty will be the worker bee

step 3: furniture ~ we think we've narrowed it down to the style we like

step 4: decor ~ you saw my shopping cart above...plus i have some DIY projects to start

step 5: baby! only God knows when he'll arrive!
