most people are surprised at my size when i tell them how far along i am. i get "oh! you're so small!!" alot. funny thing is i measure right on track for baby j's gestational age. let me tell you...i feel PLENTY big, thank you very much!
checking my weight at this week's appointment required the use of a larger weight. {you know, the top weights that measure 1 lb at a time...and the larger weights that measure 50's!} at 150 i am matching my highest weight ever - this is what i weighed after taking steroids to treat bells palsy in highschool. strange how different 150 can look at various stages in your life!
starting to notice a few small stretchmarks...none on my belly though. {i'm watching closely! haha}
i feel: great! sometimes i feel/ think i'm smaller than i am...and i get squished. i've had to learn that i should pull chairs out further than i think before trying to sit next a desk or table. i've bumped baby j on a few things by accident. i just have to laugh. i've been trying to get exercise more consistently and it feels fantastic! i love the energy and motivation i feel after a long walk :)
i've been trying to be consistent with my bradley method exercises too. matt's been an awesome encouragement and motivator.
i feel more emotional recently. doesn't take much to make me cry ~ both sad and happy tears. just mention the miracle that our baby is, or the ways people have already begun to bless us in celebrating him and i'm a puddle.
i crave: burgers of course. the "charbroiled" flavors are particularly enticing ~ carl's jr and burger king have just the right taste. {probably a good thing we don't live near either of those restaurants!} mexican food too. i could eat a chili verde burrito for every meal.
i think: pretty sure studying pediatrics is going to scare me alot more than studying OB. the pregnancy complications don't worry me as much as the growth and development issues, childhood illnesses, decisions about parenting, etc......will definitely be praying our way through raising baby j!!
i hope: to patiently enjoy the experience of the third trimester. i'm in no rush to hold baby j...even though he's been a long time coming! i want to savor these last 10ish weeks of my time with matt.
docs say: at my last appointment baby j and i got two thumbs up. my weight gain was on track with the 1 lb/week goal they've set. my blood pressure was it's normal low self. baby j's heart rate was right around 150. my fundal height {aka belly measurement} was 31 cm. it's supposed to be near the number of weeks pregnant a woman is. doctor said baby j is growing just the way he should be!
