appointment {#2}

so, i had a follow up appointment last friday at 8am. we all know that doctor's offices are not the most time conscious places...but even after waiting for my appointment time, peeing in a cup, waiting for the OB to come in, chatting with her and checking out, I was out of the 5 story building and in my car by 8:25. {yes, i'm serious.}

here's how my appointment went:

*knock*
me: come on in.
OB: hi hoostina. (I have a hispanic OB) i don't think we've met yet.
me: actually, we have. but it has been a while.
OB: oh, ok. so, is this a routine visit? or did you schedule it specifically.
me: um, it was scheduled for me after my last visit. i'm assuming it's routine.
OB: oh, ok. well, how are you feeling? do you have any questions for me?
me: i'm actually feeling really sick. all day, everyday. most days i throw up once or twice, but there have been days when i can't keep anything down.
OB: oh, ok. i'll write you prescription for some vitamin b6, but you'll have to check with the pharmacist cause the dosage i want you to take isn't usually available. also, drink things with ginger in them - ginger ale, ginger tea. any questions?
me: [pull out my list of 6 questions, ask them]
OB: [quickly answers questions] alright, we'll see you back in a couple weeks.
me: um, thanks?!

seriously? that's what an appointment without an ultrasound consists of?? lame.

she told me that beginning at the next appointment they will use a doppler to listen to the baby's heartbeat. but apparently, my appointment on friday was too soon to do so. which makes me wonder why they scheduled an appointment for then, if they knew there was nothing they could do/see/hear at that point. i have to go back in two weeks. so what was the point!? i mean, the OB didn't touch me more than to shake my hand when she walked in the room. seems sorta pointless. sure, sure they took my BP, weighed me and checked my pee. but i'm unimpressed...lol. ok, enough ranting...i'll shut-up now!

my next appointment is july 2nd. where we prayerfully hope to hear the heartbeat of our baby (again!)!! :)
